We Still Don't Know How Often Children are Involved in Accidental Shootings

With two accidental shootings publicized in 2014 in which children shot and killed adults, it may be surprising to know that we have no idea how many children are involved in accidental shootings. 

There are many gaps in the data dependent on medical examiner rulings, law enforcement reports, and varying statistics between groups that compile shooting information, like the CDC and the National Violent Death Reporting System. 

Having accurate, nationwide data on accidental shootings will be imperative to learn what we can all do to prevent them from happening.
